America’s founding fathers shaped our nation around one clear vision:
freedom. Today, more than ever, a deep sense of national pride and our
vision of freedom is what binds us together as the United States of America;
it surrounds our brave men and women who defend our country, and it
will carry us forward through the great challenges that lie ahead.
For centuries, the American bald eagle has flown proudly as the ultimate
symbol of our national pride and pursuit of freedom. In the high
quiet of the deep blue sky, the eagle is a fierce hunter with no equal. Our
founders saw in the bald eagle the very same qualities that defined
our new nation: strength, courage and resilience. And when it was officially
adopted as our national symbol in 1782, the American bald
eagle became a treasured symbol of American patriotism that will forever
represent the freedoms we hold so dear.
Now America Remembers is extremely proud to introduce an impressive new
issue honoring the spirit of American freedom:
The American Eagle Tribute Thompson. This exclusive Tribute is being offered
on a working Thompson Semi-Automatic in caliber .45 ACP, the perfect canvas on which to honor our nation’s enduring
spirit and all of the brave Americans who have
fought to preserve it. Craftsmen commissioned specifically for this project
by America Remembers decorate each working
Thompson in sparkling 24-karat gold and nickel with a blackened patinaed
background to highlight the details of the
patriotic artwork.
The Thompson: An American Original
By selecting the legendary Thompson for the American Eagle Tribute, we’ve
chosen an American-made
firearm that was born of the same ingenuity and perseverance that made our
country great. At home and
abroad, the mighty Thompson has proved itself in the service of courageous
soldiers and lawmen.
In 1915, retired Army General John T. Thompson began research on a weapon
that would
put more firepower in the hands of Allied men on the frontlines. However, in
the absence of a
global conflict, the Thompson was immediately touted as a powerful crime
fighting tool.
Unfortunately, many of the Thompson’s biggest fans were the country’s most
wanted criminals.
But once J. Edgar Hoover’s G-Men got a hold of the Tommy Gun, the odds were
made a
little more even.
The United States military went on to use the Thompson in World War II,
the Korean War as well as in Vietnam, and the FBI kept Tommy Guns in their
arsenal up until 1976. To this day the Thompson remains one of the most
widely recognized and respected American firearms in our nation’s
history and throughout the world.

The handsome Tribute is highly-polished, blued
steel, accented with 24-karat gold decorations, including the butt plate,
compensator, spherical cocking knob, rear sight, swivels, trigger and activator.
Complementing the overall design are the crafted stocks of richly polished,
American walnut.

Both sides of the receiver feature a magnificent
American bald eagle, delicately hand-etched in stunning 24-karat gold and
nickel. Flowing in the background are the proud colors of the American flag –
the handsome white nickel, the brilliant blue of the star field and the striking
red stripes (which feature a distinctive mixture of gold and pure copper). A
blackened patina process is used to highlight the details of the artwork,
including the meticulous rendering of the eagle’s outstretched wing feathers. |
