Bruce Boxleitner has been a fan favorite for more than twenty years. As one of Hollywood’s top romantic leading men, he has starred in numerous television series and movies during his career. At America Remembers, we’re particularly fond of Bruce’s performances in historical epics and Westerns. Bruce frequently attends film festivals and Western events around the country, always enjoying the opportunity to meet his fans.
When he’s not working, Bruce enjoys riding his horse and participating in Western celebrity rodeo events, where he usually excels. Bruce also regularly participates in Western shooting events, where he competes with other Western enthusiasts.
Bruce is also an avid history buff and a collector of classic firearms.
With Bruce’s interest in history and fine firearms, coupled with his career and admiration for Westerns, I approached Bruce to discuss our desire to produce a tribute to honor his career. Bruce was very receptive, and today I am especially pleased to present “The Bruce Boxleitner Tribute Rifle,” a working Winchester Model 94 rifle, decorated by some of America’s most talented artisans in honor of this talented actor’s exciting career, and his efforts to preserve and promote the history of the Old West.
Craftsmen specifically commissioned by America Remembers decorate each Tribute with spectacular artwork in 24-karat gold and nickel.
Right side of the receiver features two images of Bruce Boxleitner. On the left is a superb image of Bruce as a cowboy, lariat in hand. To the right is a contemporary image of Bruce with the winning smile that has endeared him to audiences of all ages.
A recreation of Bruce’s signature is featured in nickel, dramatically displayed against the blackened patinaed background. Elaborate scrollwork in nickel frames the artwork on both sides of the receiver, adding additional elegance to the design of the Tribute.
Left side of the receiver features three handsome images of Bruce Boxleitner in Western attire. Prominently featured in the center is a portrait of Bruce Boxleitner, capturing the handsome rugged features of him as a cowboy. A banner reading “Bruce Boxleitner Tribute” surrounds the images. To the left is an image of Bruce as a cowboy with a rifle in his hands. To the right, he is portrayed with the stern, disciplined look of a cowboy at work.
Though renowned for his roles as a spy and space traveler, some of Bruce’s best work can be seen in his period Westerns. Bruce started his career in Westerns, and this genre has always remained one of his favorites. Early in his career, he worked with James Arness on “The Macahans,” which later became the series “How The West Was Won.” He has appeared in many television movies including, “Wyatt Earp: Return To Tombstone,” “Red River,” “Gunsmoke: One Man’s Justice,” “Louis L’Amour’s Down the Long Hills,” “Wild Times,” “I Married Wyatt Earp” and four of the five “Gambler” movies co-starring Kenny Rogers. Bruce’s real-life interest in the American frontier shows through in these historical dramas, and he has always done his best to ensure accuracy and detail in each performance.
In addition to the handsome artwork on the receiver and stocks, the barrel bands, hammer, lever, trigger, hooded sight, and end cap have been polished and clad in lustrous 24-karat gold to perfectly accentuate the receiver, and combined with the blued steel of the 20” barrel and tubular magazine, and the laser-carved polished walnut stocks, the result is a museum-quality firearm of uncommon beauty and appeal.
The Bruce Boxleitner Tribute Rifle honors a popular actor who has found success in many roles, including Westerns. He is a devoted fan of the Old West, and works diligently to promote keeping the Old West alive. I hope you will take this opportunity to acquire this handsomely decorated tribute on a classic Western lever-action firearm for your collection.
