A Marlin 1894 Cowboy Rifle Decorated with Artwork in 24-Karat Gold and Nickel Honoring the First Family of the West

In April of 1938, at the Capitol theater in Dallas, Texas, America’s newest western star made his debut. In his first movie, “Under the Western Skies,” Roy played the role of a Wyoming cowboy with a wonder horse named Trigger who traveled to Washington, appealing to Congress to help starving farmers and ranchers in the Depression years.

Now 70 years later, America Remembers is pleased to introduce the “Roy Rodgers, Dale Evans, and Roy “Dusty” Rodgers, Jr. Tribute Rifle.” This beautifully decorated Model 1894 Marlin “Cowboy Limited” lever action rifle will be the envy of many a Roy Rogers fan, and would look right at home in Roy’s saddle as he chased the bad guys on Trigger.

At the height of his popularity, Roy’s films and personal appearance broke all attendance records, his comic books sold over a million copies a month, and his television show drew a huge and loyal viewership. Dale Evans grew up wanting to be a performer. Born in Texas, Dale began her singing career during the golden years of radio. Soon she was singing with orchestras and performing in clubs. It wasn’t long before Hollywood discovered Dale.

When Republic studios offered Dale the opportunity to team with Roy Rogers as his leading lady, she accepted – thinking that she would work her way up to better roles. Dale and Roy’s first movie together, “The Cowboy and the Senorita,” was a smashing success. By 1947, Dale had become such a fan favorite that she was listed, with Roy, as among the top ten box office stars. Roy and Dale were married on December 31, 1947.

Their family attracted much attention. There were nine children, including Roy Jr., who we know as “Dusty.” Millions of kids around the world grew up with the Roger children, seeing them on television and reading about them in the papers and magazines. A singing star like his father, Dusty performed around the country with his band the High Riders, and now performs regularly at the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum in Branson, MO, which is full of memories of Roy, Dale and their family

It’s not often that we have the opportunity to honor two generations of performers who have played such a positive role in many of our lives. For 70 years since Roy’s first film, America has loved and admired the First Family of the West. For this special Tribute we have selected the classic Marilin Model 1894 Cowboy Limited rifle in caliber .45 LC. this genuine working beauty is a throwback to the Old West rifles, with all the advantages of modern technology

The left side of the receiver features a portrait of Roy “Dusty” Rogers, Jr., along with a portrait of Roy and Dale, cheek to cheek with their smiles that warmed so many of our hearts. A banner with the legend “Roy, Dale and Dusty Rogers” is featured in the center.

Right side of the receiver features Roy’s wonder horse Trigger, with Roy in the saddle, rearing up in the pose which is so familiar to all of us. To the left, Roy and Dale ride on Trigger, the loved and admired golden palomino who co-starred with Roy in 180 adventures.

The artwork on both sides of the receiver is complemented by gently flowing scrollwork in gleaming nickel. The rifle’s lever is polished and decorated in 24-karat gold, as are the forend cap and magazine cap. Each Tribute’s edition number from 001 to 300 is featured in 24-karat gold and nickel on the rifle’s tang. Additionally, the unique octagonal barrel is finished in polished blued steel.
