West Point World War II Tribute Pistol

The America Remembers West Point World War II Tribute .45 is designed and crafted to be a cherished heirloom. The pistol is beautifully polished, blued, and decorated in 24-karat gold and nickel .The slide is finished in 24-karat gold and emblazoned on the left side of the slide is a central vignette of P-51 Mustang fighter planes and the legend "World War II Tribute." On the front of the slide you will find B-17 bombers, the mighty "Flying Fortress" of World War II. To the right is a portrait of General Henry H. "Hap" Arnold, Commanding General of the Army Air Force, visionary air strategist, and an instrumental supporter in development of both the B-17 and the B-24 bombers, which proved so vital in achieving victory.

West Point WWII Tribute Pistol

On the right side of the slide, the central image features troops coming ashore on the Normandy beaches on D-Day, June 6, 1944. To the left of the D-Day scene is a portrait of General Omar N. Bradley, who commanded the American invasion forces on D-Day. At the front of the slide, etched in black on brushed nickel is a depiction of the German barricades that greeted our forces on the beaches of Normandy.

At the rear of the slide, on both sides, in 24-karat gold and black, are depictions of the distinctive United States Military Academy crest.  Beneath the recoil spring plug, at the lower front of the slide, is each pistol's own special and certified issue number featured in gold.  Only five hundred of these West Point World War II Tribute pistols will be made, and the pistols are individually numbered from 001-500.  At the top of the slide, in gold and black, is a representation of the Stars and Stripes with the legend "West Point WWII Tribute." Ahead of the rear sight, in brushed nickel, gold and black, is the official seal of the Association of Graduated of the United States Military Academy.

The grips on this deluxe Tribute pistol are specially crafted of precious rosewood and are the classic “double diamond” checkering pattern characteristic of the original Model 1911 pistols.  As a final touch, the grip screws slide stop, hammer, safety lock, magazine catch, and main spring housing pin are all polished and decorated in 24-karat gold.
