“The Singing Cowboy”
America grew up with Gene Autry and we loved him! Of all the cowboys who rode the range during the golden age of westerns, Gene Autry remains one of the most popular. He starred in more than 90 feature films, and was the first major star to enter television. In 1937, Gene was ranked as Hollywood’s top western star and he remained number one for years to come.
At a time when the world seemed simpler … when good guys wore white hats and a cowboy’s best friend was his horse … Gene Autry was the ultimate hero. Whether crooning on his famous radio show, “Melody Ranch,” or appearing in over 90 movies and on television as a defender of justice in the wild west, he was always the perfect gentleman. A dashing figure astride his faithful horse Champion, he was America’s “Singing Cowboy.”
The rifle’s walnut stock is laser-carved on each side with Gene’s signature and an image of Gene and Champion bursting through the sunrise off on another adventure, along with Gene’s title “The Singing Cowboy.” Barrel bands are hand-polished and finished in 24-karat gold. The lever is polished, etched with a decorative scroll, and clad in 24-karat gold and nickel.
Highlighting the right side of the receiver are two familiar scenes – Gene Autry and Champion plus a scene of Gene and his rifle.
Highlighting the left side of the receiver is a classic pose of Gene Autry and his guitar. Also featured are six action scenes of Gene.
