In the 1960’s, George Jones was acclaimed as the greatest country singer alive. Over the next several decades, his talent has not diminished. To honor him and his outstanding record, America Remembers® has authorized the Official George Jones Single Action .45 Revolver.
George Jones, himself a collector of fine guns, has approved this firearm every step of the way. He selected the song that is the theme of the George Jones .45, He Stopped Loving Her Today. This song was his biggest, the one that launched him into superstardom in 1980, winning “Single of the Year.”
With the release of his newest album, Hi-Tech Redneck, and his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992, once again he is in the forefront of American country music.
His life has often been compared to a country song. From his own personal experiences he drew material for many of his songs, bringing them to life with a voice that twisted and evoked the last drop of emotion from every word.
A Firearm Worthy of George Jones’ Signature
Encircling the barrel, frame and cylinder are the notes of the song, He Stopped Loving Her Today, in 24-karat gold. On one side of the barrel the name George Jones is inscribed. On the other, his guitar is etched in 24-karat gold.
His portrait appears on the left side of the frame. The familiar George Jones logo adorns the top of the backstrap.
This is a working gun, not just a display piece. Each revolver is individually hand-decorated and inspected by the Society’s Chief Gunsmith before it is shipped. Only 950 will ever be made. When the edition has been fully subscribed, the guns will only be available from private collectors on the secondary market.
Each revolver in this edition is produced for us by the master craftsmen of A. Uberti, who have expertly created this classic firearm just as they have created so many of the western classics since 1959, and have established themselves as the premier maker of historical firearms recreations. For decades, their craftsmen have combined modern high-grade materials with the time-honored methods of finishing to create exquisite, working reproductions of history’s greatest firearms.
Optional Display Case
In order to display and protect your George Jones Tribute Revolver, a handsome, luxuriously lined custom made display case including an engraved brass identification plaque is available for purchase.
